Synopsis

• An enraged Garganta is rampaging through Hollywood and upon learning of the situation Nightveil takes off to deal with it on her own. Nightveil almost has the situation under control when a pulse of ectoplasm which is seeking out the Sorceress grabs a unsuspecting Tara off Taragonia and flings her across the planet and into Nightveil rendering the witch unconscious. The ectoplasm takes the life force of the Green Lama from Nightveil and departs, leaving Giant Tara to try and calm Garganta. Ms. Victory, She-Cat and Stardust arrive to help, but ultimately it's Microman who manages to save the day. A Black Phantom story is the backup.

Story

• An overdose of stimulants administered by a jealous actress has caused Garganta to go on a rampage. The Femforce learn of the situation, but ,before they can react as a team, Nightveil uses her mystic powers to head to Hollywood on her own. Sheriff Betty Fury is left to care for an injured Synn and to watch the monitors. Nightveil quickly arrives in L.A. She can't physically stop Garganta so she puts a spell on the Giantess to render Garganta unconscious.

  Meanwhile, Dr. Weir uses the powers of the Purple Claw to try and revive the lifeforce of the Green Lama. A purple charge of ectoplasm seeks the Green Lama's lifeforce around the globe before being drawn to Tara because of her close association with the Sorceress. The charge swoops down and picks Tara up, using her auric connection to Nightveil as a mystical homing device. Nightveil has just stopped Garganta when the charge, and a Giant Tara, slam into her knocking her out. The charge takes the Green Lama's lifeforce from the Sorceress and Tara is left to confront Garganta now that the unconscious Nightveil cannot keep her sedated with her spell.

  The two giantesses battle as Ms. Victory, She-Cat and Stardust finally arrive. Tara is thrown into Ms. Victory and She-Cat tries to revive Nightveil leaving Stardust to tackle Garganta. A plan is hatched to tranquilize the Giantess but before Dusty can get Garganta to ingest the necessary pills, Garganta knocks them from her hands. Microman appears to help and the height-challenged hero turns out to be just what the doctor ordered when, with Stardust's help, he manages to throw the pills down Garganta's throat. Garganta is toppled and the police arrive to take control of the situation.

• I really liked -
  1. The character development, especially for Sheriff Betty Fury and Nightveil. Sheriff Fury yearns to contribute to the team in some valuable way and Nightveil has become very cold as she seeks to abandon the human (and mortal) side of herself.
  2. The re-animation of the Green Lama.
  3. The machinations of Stella Stargaze.
  4. The David and Goliath aspect of the Giantess being laid low by Microman.
• I didn't like -
  1. Nightveil's initial efforts to stop Garganta without using magic are strange considering the early part of the story reinforces that she is trying to shed the human side of her character.
  2. The ease with which Garganta escapes the consequences of her rampage.

Art

• Cover - Giant Tara and Garganta, with Black Phantom, Stella Stargaze and Microman shown off to the side. The main image of Garganta and Tara is likely a Giant Woman fans delight!
• Generally - Interior art is in color and the action flows well down the page.
• I really liked -
  1. The Giant Woman fascination isn't one that I have, but the fight sequences between the Giant Women are visually interesting.
  2. The image of She-Cat scaling a giant-sized but unconscious Nightveil's breasts is priceless!
  3. The depiction of legendary actor Rory Calhoun.
  4. The backgrounds give us a Capital City Distribution truck and a Gorby Transports truck.
  5. Classic Bill Black women.
• I didn't like -
  1. The cut of Nightveil's costume.
  2. In a few of the panels, the characters are standing very stiffly.
  3. The perspective sometimes has Garganta being taller than large buildings and sometimes only being as tall as the fourth story of a building.
