Femforce-Femfans Fan Fiction Contest

The Contest

To celebrate the upcoming start of my 4th year hosting the Official Femforce Fan Club, Femfans, I've decided to sponsor a Fan Fiction contest with a cash prize for the submission I deem my favorite. Since I first posted what has grown into the Femforce-Femfans website over 5 years ago, I've collected a number of images that I think would make a good scene in a Femforce-related story. So, here's the deal: Write a fan fiction story that includes at least one of the scenes represented below (click on the image for a larger picture).

The Prize

The winning author will receive a cash prize dependent upon the total number of eligible submissions to the contest.

Less than 5 eligible submissions: The winner receives $50.

5-10 eligible submissions: The winner receives $75.

11-14 eligible submissions: The winner receives $100 and the runner-up receives $25.

More than 15 eligible submissions: The winner receives $150 and the runner-up receives $50.

The Rules

1. All submissions should be in text format (.txt) with a minimum file size of 25 kb. Submissions should be e-mailed to: psmonsky@erols.com .

2. Authors may enter multiple stories in the contest, up to 5 submissions, but stories that are largely duplicative of earlier submissions will not be eligible.

3. No graphic depictions of nudity, no depictions of permanent physical harm to any of the AC characters, and no unnecessarily coarse language. Keep the stories at approximately a PG-13 rating level.

4. The story must include a representation of at least one of the scenes pictured on this page.

5. Only characters trademarked or licensed by AC Comics, in the public domain, or of the author's own invention may be used in the submitted fiction.

6. All eligible stories must be received on or before 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States on August 31, 2002.

7. Since I'm putting up the cash prize, I'm the final decision-maker on whether any of these rules have been broken.

8. I'm not eligible for the contest and I will be judging the winner (and runner-up) based, in part, upon the criteria set forth under "Judging" below. I expect to be able to announce the results within a few days after the contest deadline.

9. The eligible submissions, with credit to the authors, and the results of the contest will be posted in the Stories section of my Femforce-Femfans website and the winning author and runner-up will be contacted via the last address provided to me in order to arrange for payment of their cash prize.

10. The obligation to keep me informed of an address (whether mail or e-mail) where you can be reached lies with the author. If I have been unable to make contact with the winning author(s) at the address provided and have not been contacted by the winning author(s) within 30 days of the announcement of the contest results, then any cash prize owed is forfeit.

Judging

While ultimately the judging will come down to a subjective opinion of the story I enjoyed the most, here are some of the factors that will likely influence that opinion:

• Seamless integration of the scene(s) required above into the overall story

• Interpretations of the characters personality, intellect, character, powers, etc., that are consistent with known qualities of the characters as shown by their overall appearances in the AC Universe.

• A minimum of seemingly unintentional spelling and grammatical mistakes that impact upon the overall quality of the story.

• Action, excitement, drama, horror...!

Miscellaneous

• I am the webmaster of a fan website and am not an owner, publisher, or employee of AC Comics.

• The use of AC Comics' trademarked characters on my Femforce-Femfans website, including the use in fan fiction, has been authorized by AC Comics subject to AC Comics' approval.

• The authors of contest submissions retain any copyright to their stories that they have with the exception that the authors agree that I may post their submissions on my website, crediting them as desired with authorship.   However, because of AC Comics' trademark rights, the posting of the contest submissions on another website or reproduction of the stories in other media requires specific authorization from AC Comics. This contest is not intended to violate any of AC Comics' legal rights arising from AC Comics' trademarked characters.

• The above is also true for the use of Don Secrease's trademarked characters.

• Some editing may be required to post the stories (typos, conversion from text to html, etc.) and I will attempt to work in conjunction with the author on any edits.
